My Dad

January 21st, 2019

The photograph above is my dad when he was in the army back in the 40's I think.
My dad was an artist. I often found him sketching in his drawing pad all kinds of images. Like fish in a stream, or caricatures of our pets mostly our cat and women figures.
I cannot draw like my dad did, but I draw

Mushrooms Out Back

January 17th, 2019

This year there were quite a few mushrooms scattered about the property. Some were large and some were small. They were a lot of fun to photograph.
But mushrooms are not good for our dogs. They are poisonous

Columbine

January 14th, 2019

Every spring I look forward to seeing my Columbine. In my garden they bloom just after the bleeding hearts are nearly done for the season. I also grow white and purple columbines too. I've seen mini columbines

Love In The Mist

January 10th, 2019

Love In The Mist is a somewhat strange looking flower yet very delicate and beautiful. One of my favorite annual flowers.
Usually my floral photographs are soft, bright and bold, but this time I wanted to try something different and

Alstroemeria

January 7th, 2019

How many different ways can one photograph alstroemeria? As you may have seen I photograph these beauties quite often. For many reasons...one they are beautiful, two they come in a variety of colors,

One minute it's spring, then summer, fall just flew by and barely happened since we've been getting snow here in Maine almost the whole month of November and here is it just weeks from Christmas and 2019. I have no words.
I will say though that this year has

Christmas in Maine

December 6th, 2018

The Christmas season is upon us and I wanted to share one of my favorite places and photograph. Take a look at this! The Rockland Lobster Trap Christmas Tree! There are many lobster trap Christmas tree throughout Maine,

Road Block

December 3rd, 2018

Did you ever run into that infamous Road Block! The one that won't let you pass....the one that you keep running into no matter how hard you try to get around that road block!
As an artist I do occasionally run into those road blocks, but am able to get around them pretty easily, but not this time. Maybe I'm trying too hard...maybe there is too much going on now with the holidays and all? As hard as I try to break through that road block it just keeps getting harder and harder! There were a couple of times I thought I might have broken through, but no....what does one do when you can't get through the road block? Stop!

Angel

November 27th, 2018

A few years ago I was looking around the city of Bangor here in Maine for a photograph I needed for a gallery showing. The gallery was very specific that the photograph had to be somewhere in Bangor. So I went to one of my favorite places to photograph....the Mount Hope Cemetery. Yes I know it sounds weird
